Greetings...so sorry it's taken me a bit to get this letter you, but I'm sure you'll understand after reading it,

I would first like to say, once again, how VERY touched and humbled I am by your overwhelming support and the support of your friends in my quest to make the 2nd season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. I am STILL in awe that with your help and the help of your friends, my support went global- YES, GLOBAL! People from all over the world and all walks of life and across all communities banded together to help me try to achieve a dream. Belgium, Greece, Argentina just to name a few! WOW! I could not be more blessed. With your generosity, I made it into the Top 25 out of over 2,500 contest participants- each of them worked as hard as we did to win a chance to be cast on the show. The faith and love you have shown me is overwhelming. A heartfelt THANK YOU!

Your kindness and well wishes are true gifts that bring a smile to my face each and every day. This allows me to keep doing what I love doing most - and have for 27 years- help people and make them smile. As you know, Drag is my passion. I channel your kindness and your smiles into my work. I will continue to do so.

I have received official word from the casting office. They have begun filming season two; unfortunately, I was not chosen to be on this year's show. As you can imagine, I was hugely disappointed that I didn’t make the selection. But I wasn't devastated. As I see it, the "take aways" for me from this experience are three-fold: 1. Often times the outcome isn't nearly as important as the journey; 2. The journey invariably leads to bigger and brighter things; 3. The role each of you played in this journey was truly inspirational.

Remember when Garth Brooks sang "Thank God for unanswered prayers"
Well, it could very well apply here...

Yes, this experience has already segued into a new idea - something much greater for me and for us. And the best thing about it that I will have each of you by my side

Please stay tuned as the journey continues. I envision it to be one of the most exciting and meaningful things I have ever done. Of course, as Hillary said, "It [will take] a Village". Once final plans are in place, you can rest assured that I will include each of you.

Thank you again for all of your love and support.

With Much gratitude and love, I remain,

Andrew “Blair Michaels” Abell

*I must say a special thanks to Andrew T for helping realize that you can reach people from all walks of life and bring them together. I look forward to our next GREAT journey. And to my husband Brad. You never gave up on me or my dream(s). That is what makes you so special to me now and forever. I love you honey.

I am now a former Best Actress of the Washington  Academys
The 46th Best Actress to be extact!
It was one of the BEST things to be honored with!
I've been honored to win so many titles that if I listed them you'd be reading a novel, But here is JUST a few

Miss Remingtons 1995
Miss Gaye USA-DC 1995
Miss Mardi Gras 1996
Miss Zodiac 1996
Miss Gaye America-DC 1998

Miss Gay Delaware and Regional 2001
Miss Ziegfeld 2002
the list goes on and on, but thought you'd like a taste.

I've worked all over the United States and a brief stint in London, England. It has been a blast. I will continue to entertain and lend my hand to those who can't do for themselves!
I am currently a freelance make-up artist /  pageant consultant and an entertainer. I'd have to say that doing the Make-up and Hair for the 2005 Miss USA pageant was one of the highlights or my career. Not to be out done, I've also done hair and make-up for MANY Miss America contestants as well. While both were thrilling, I'd have to give the edge to the Miss USA pageant..

I constantly raise money for various charites all across the country. Weather it's a local charity like Whitman Walker Clinic or Granma's House to The Pediatric AIDS foundation.
No charity is to small.
It humbles me to be able to help raise money for those in need.
I always will and as long as possible will keep on doing just that.
Over the span of 24 years I've helped raise more than $1.6 million dollars for charities all across the country.
The people who've help me accomplish this are amazing people and I am proud to lend my support to anyone who needs it.
My thanks for your love and support!
ANYHOOOO...

I'm very proud to say at the national Miss Gay America pageant in October 2004 my former business partner and I were honored to recieve the Miss Gay America
"Best Promoters / Preliminary" award.
This was a FIRST for ANY Miss Gay D.C. America pageant.
We couldn't have done it without a fantastic team of helpers and we thank them for there efforts.
Not owning the pageant anylonger, it's in the capable hands of Cocker productions.
Wally and I hope we rubbed off our winning ways to them and that they continue the traditions!
It must have worked!
Because the new owners of Miss Gay DC were  named "Best Regional Preliminary" for the 2005-2006 and the 2008 season,
and are also proud  that Miss Gay DC 2008 Victoria DePaula is the New Miss Gay America!
Congratulations to Cocker Productions!
Keep up the great work Robert and Blake.
